Youtube now allowing Beatles covers apparently

Post by RobW »

I guess they changed their mind after years of immediately squashing any video with any hint of a Beatles tune.

But I just looked, and my 4001C64 bass covers to Something, You Never Give Me your Money, and Not Guilty from 10-12 years ago have been restored (https://www.youtube.com/@Rickdd2/videos). I had given up on Youtube. Go figure.

I put a lot of work into them to recreate the Beatles McCartney tone. TI-JF344 flatwound strings are the key, I think, plus some compression.

The point is you can apparently now post Beatles clips and covers, a big change from before.

EXCELLENT covers, RobW. Big surprise was how well the Icon sounded.

That Icon is horrible live, when just plugged straight into an amp. Thin-sounding and garbage. I think I cranked down the tone knob and put in compression to try to get something out of it with that video. Maybe the more expensive 500 model is better, but I'm gonna stick to my Rick.
