I'm with Mike. Beautiful basses, Joey!

Thanks, Mike and Peter. The 4003S/5 (l.) is from October 1997. I acquired it from Gary (Doctorwho) in late 2007. The 4001V63 (r.) is from March 1993. I acquired it from forum member Bassmansam in July 2008, who acquired it from forum member Sloopjohnb. Both of those guys regret selling it, especially Sloopjohnb. Any bassist who's played it thinks that it's an extra special one. It's a player's bass guitar, not a case queen. I've gigged with it a lot since I've had it and will continue to do so. I'm playing it in my avatar at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA.

There's a thread featuring my 4001V63 here on the RRF that you might find interesting;

Joey, thanks for the history of this bass and the bonus of extra reading in a more detailed thread. I was wondering, did a T.A.R.D.I.S. come with the deal? :)

It was incomplete because sloop_john_b was not the original owner, and I don't know who owned it before John. I know that at some point i it's journer that it was owned by a Paul McCartney nut that had to have the same fret wire installed, had the pickups rewound to vintage specs (I think by Lindy Fralin) and changed the pickup switch to work in reverse like Macca's. I had to rewire it to work normally, as it drove me nuts.

Happy Friday, all! This week I added a Winfield Accent Vibrola with adapter plate to,replace the trapeze tailpiece on the recent arrival. Nice hardware and super easy installation and decision.

Mike, I love your version of "TWINS...ALMOST", this Friday.

Happy Friday everyone. I hope no one has a reason to fret.
