McCartney book Wingspan

Post by apollo11 »

If anyone hasn't seen Wingspan, Paul McCartney's Band On The Run, it is the history of Wings, and well worth obtaining a copy. It has many great pictures of various instruments, mainly a few nice ones of the Ric, and a few of the upside-down jazz bass and his old Casino. All the text comes from McCartney quotes and interviews. Good shots of the Mull of Kintyre sessions, too.

This is very enjoyable, easy reading, and highly recommended.

Wow, I used to have one of those little SG Systems combo amps that is down in the lefthand corner of that second shot. In fact, I still have the bottom part; the amp died long ago and I removed it from the cabinet. First time I remember seeing any well known artist using one.

Is Mr. McCartney playing through that Marshall?

OK, off-topic, but...

Anyone know what they were using those two (or more?) little WEM consoles for? You can see at least one of them in many shots from the '75-'77 tour pics.
