Brian...
The CAR, it's always the CAR that has to go!!
The GT/E was VERY cool! Red, with black vinyl top and black pleather interior...and the rear was slightly offset, creating the running dog look from behind!!lol!! It would "powerbrake" without my foot being on the gas.....no joke.....it was SERIOUS muscle.....sold it for , I think, $2500.00 back in the late '80s......

Paul, this little 302 handled better than many of the other street machines I'd driven back in the day , including ANY Trans Am, MOST Camaros and my neighbors 'Cuda...a '70 I believe....
Did'ja THROW it into the corners, like you're supposed to and come out high rpms, screamin'???

"What a nightmare! It drove terribly, had zero visibility and even less practicality, except in summer (I presume) and wanted to swap ends at the slightest nudge of the loud pedal. "
I don't know about anyone else but swapping ends at the slightest nudge of the loud pedal is the true test of a musclecar for me, haha! I had a 69 Nova with a transplanted 350 and 3 speed auto in it, wouldn't have compared with most of the cars in this thread but it was still fun to drive especially as me and a friend put the motor and tranny in it ourselves. The neighborhood kids use to yell at me as I went by to burn the back tires, whom of course I had to oblige.

My Cougar GT when it was rebuilt by me (modern suspension/racing brakes) was an awesome track car and anytime you wanted more turn-in going through a corner you only had to nudge the gas to get the tail to come around. There's nothing like a screaming big block with nose heavy handling to get you heart rate up. I love plenty of new vehicle offerings but there is nothing like the feeling of driving a late '60's/early '70's musclecar.
