Does anyone have a mapleglo 4003 or a natural Cii with a gold TRC? I'd like to see what that looks like - considering it for my Nat. Cii

cheers

I got the pickguard and the nameplate from Chris Clayton at Pick of the Ricks. If anyone remembers, on his website last year he had a Mapleglo, a Monty Brown and a Turquoise 4003 for sale with a gold pickguard and nameplate. I thought that it would look really good on my Jetglo 4003. All I had to do is send him my nameplate, he just painted it gold. I haven't seen Chris since last August, so you should call or e-mail him to see if he still does it. When I ordered mine, he also did them in silver as well.

As for a gold nameplate on a Cii, I think that the gold hardware on a Cii is a slightly different hue than the gold used on the vintage nameplates. However, I think that it would still look pretty cool.

Here's a close up on how the nameplate looks like (sorry for the flash):

I'll take another one later today. Ken, if I hit the store sometime this week, I'll take a couple of pictures for you.

So it's the raised letters type... I thought it was the plexi vintage style. Can you swap a white raised-logo TRC for a gold vintage-style plexi nameplate?

I was told no about a year ago. I think you have to exchange like for like, meaning if I had a raised letter nameplate, I could exchange it for one just like it, not for a vintage one. Kenny Howes would be the person to confirm this. I would have loved to have the vintage gold nameplate, but I think mine look pretty cool anyway.

You can exchange a raised letter one for a vintage one, I am not sure about a gold vintage one though.

Ilan-

I exchanged a beat-up and painted raised letter TRC for a vintage re-issue gold one through Mike Parks a couple years ago. But don't tell him I told you!

For anyone interested, I contacted Chris at POTR and he will paint a TRC gold. I'm having him do mine for my 4003MB. My gold custom pickguard like on Jeffrey Scott's Mapleglo fretless should be delivered Monday. I'm putting in a toaster and vintage knobs too. It should look killer. I'll post pics if anyone wants to see it when it's complete.
