Another Cheyenne I on the Bay

Nice looking bass, seems like the seller knows that it's a fairly unusual model. Looks like it's pristine.

I know I'm saving up for a new Laredo...and I'm waffling thinking of a new fretted Jazz Bass (don't hate me, please!

)...but if I had the cash available I think I'd jump on a 4004 CI like this. Just something about its looks that sets me off!

Wish there was a BIN to see what they really want for this. I will lurk until the end but contacted the seller to ask why no BIN.

I should have purchased the one that Jeff Rath got a few weeks ago. Hopefully this one will be around the same price.

The one I bought hit Ebay last November with a BIN of $1,000. The photos were great and the seller very helpful. He had switched the pots to stacked knobs and included the originals in the deal. Of course, there's no telling where this one will end judging by what some Rics have sold for on lately.

The odd thing is the 4004's seem to go for reasonable prices, when some 4001's seem to get into bidding wars.

I see no bids since this morning, but there's a lot of time left. But that blue Cheyenne ii that recently was snagged by someone around this board didn't have any bids for a long time.

It's almost as though few people know about this model.

They don't have a clue about the 4004.

"Mark, I hear you have a new bass?" "Yeah, 4004." "You mean 4003?" "No, 4004."

I took my Tranny Red Cii to an open gig night at a club, everyone thought it was a one-off, custom-made design from Rickenbacker.

I was the one who got that bass and I spent a lot of time deliberating before I pulled the trigger. The hit counter was somewhere around 1,000 and I suspected that a lot of folks were staying on the sidelines until near the end of the auction and then start bidding. Besides, my wife likes blue

I think 4003's are popular since what most of the public sees and 4004's are really a Ric afficianado's bass.

I work about 15 minutes from this bass' home in Mercersburg Pa.

I have no real interest in this bass, so I'm not bidding on it, but I have sent an e-mail to the owner asking if I could check it out in person for anyone that might be interested....

I met this bass in "person" today.

Neck has a slight bow around the 3rd fret...just needs a slight t/r adjustment. There is a small ding on the treble side of the body, right where the contour starts on the front. Other than that, I couldn't find anything else wrong, cosmetic-wise....it is in VERY nice condition!! IF I were in the market for one, I'd be all over this...

it is quite common for a bass to get a little bow in the neck in the winter when the humidity drops ... a truss rod adjustment will fix that ...
