I agree with Paul Boyers list of basses, but I would also add;
Jim Glens '72 4001 and V63 Fireglo basses
Erik Kutzler's trans blue 4004Cii
Instead of Gary's Red Neck on my list, I preferred his 4002.

His 4000, even with the old tape wounds on it sounded really nice, as did the 4002.

I'm not sure who owned the Blue 4003-s5, I really enjoyed that one too, spacing and tone was great !! I might even consider something similar, but in Fireglo !!!

Jim, the midnight blue 4003S/5 is mine.

Oh I remember now, was really nice and a very pleasant surprise to play.

I dug Joey's trans red 4004cii-5, too bad the volume of the B & G strings is about half of what the inner strings are.

I also liked John Minutaglio's banjo and Dane's 3000 5 string.

...That's a subject that I have completely avoided posting about on the forum. I didn't want anyone to get the impression that I was speaking badly of the 4004Cii5 or RIC. Others had expressed their concerns about the pickup width after seeing photos my Cii5's.
It's cool really, John Hall has assured me that the new pickup he is working on for the Cii5 will solve the problem. That good enough for me. I still get to enjoy having them and got lots of compliments on them at the confluence. Hopefully by next year's confluence they will be equipped with the new version of the Cii5 pickup.

Ok, so if RIC is redesigning the pickups, will they retro fit into the current body cavities? I gotta tell ya, its one hellava peice of wood, but I have been working on it to get the sound right since I got it, and it still is not good.
