I am just happy Paul took on the project.

I think he has 100 ahead of me at this point.

I'm curious if your JG Cii actually has walnut wings...

Ben, do you take into account, when you make the necks, if it is to be a solid color, (thus using a maple side wing)?

My JetGlo Laredo is a late '05 and I've wondered if it has walnut wings as well....I'm not thinking of exposing them, just curious. I'll have to pull a tuner and find out.

Joey, I know your Cii is the interim p/u spacing but I don't know the year.....were walnut wings "standard" when yours was built?

My trans blue 4004cii has the interim p/u spacing and does not have walnut wings.

I'm just assuming my Cii JG has the walnut wings because it's an '04, since both of my Cii5's were made in '04 and they have the walnut wings. I should remove a machine head and scrape some paint to be sure. Maybe since it a solid color, there was no sense in using walnut.

I was once told be someone who knows a little more than me about such work Joey.

Even if it has the walnut wings, the craftsman working on it may just find it easier to cut of the wings and apply new walnut. As opposed to trying to strip the paint.

Dave, I guess that does sound like an easier way of changing the wings.

The cut-off wings would make nice door stops.

My wife thinks I'm crazy (crazier than usual) if I touch an ear on it's head.

Joey, I just don't know how much you would notice the walnut against the Jetglo.

It will probably stay the way it is Dave. Just one of my crazy ideas. Image

Bob,

"Ben is there any chance of you guys going back to the old dot scheme or at least putting the dots right on the notes rather than in between for the fretlesses? The dots on my new one are driving me crazy. Actually I like the 3rd 5th 7th etc but not between the notes."

Have you any news how it goes with the fretless marker situation? I have a 4003FL AFG on order and I ASSUMED it would have the same side fret dots my 1979 4001 had. It was ordered back in early January. Man, I hope RIC goes back to the old dot configuration BEFORE mine gets produced!
What did you decide upon for your bass?

Thanks!
Tony
