Good question about proof that dealers get orders from Ric. Would they get a PO number or something from Ric that could be tracked easily if necessary? I paid my dealer $500 down for my 4003. He faxed me my proof of order from him, but it would be great to see some proof of order form Ric too.

Anybody get any word on the cases that will ship with the 4003s?

Has anyone tried The Music Zoo?
They are a pretty big RIC dealer.

The Ed Roman site shows one of each Anniversary model in their real-time inventory lists at this time.

He probably has them priced at some inflated pre production price too.

I just got word, from my dealer that,

"regrettably these instruments will not be made
available to us so unfortunately I will not be able to help you out with this."

Take me off the list Bob!

Can a dealer buying direct from Rickenbacker charge more than suggested retail as a new instrument?

I doubt Rickenbacker would like that.

Here in Vegas there's an instance of that...

Sad to say at least $2139+, possible 3x.

Que sera-sera

Marc, I believe Mr. Hall has stated that once he sells to a dealer, RIC has no say in how the dealer sells.

They do have a say. They can remove the dealer from distribution.

Dealers want to buy guitars because buyers want them.If buyers are unhappy with the way dealers are selling the manufacturers instruments, the manufacturer should take notice.
