I'd have thought that the Binding wouldn't have been too much extra cost to install, labour would have been close to same as installing standard binding.

Jim, not only does it take about twice as long to bind with checked binding (it's two pieces in two stepped slots after all), the material cost is about 100 times that of plain binding. And it requires additional CNC programming for the extra binding slot to boot!

"Here, Here".... I just love saying that! Image

Supply & Demand I guess.

As far as the NUMBERS GO (and NUMBERS ONLY) other than the Lemmy, is this the smallest run of Special Edition Basses?

I'd take a Seagreen 4003 personally. Rarer, very cool colour...but, just my opinion. Image

You have to go back a long while to remember the last time we saw a SG 4003 for sale.

Not too many DG 4003's either...

Having purchased some celluloid 1.5mm x 5.0mm CB recently, I can attest that it does indeed cost more than plain binding...

John,
When I saw the binding operations at the factory it looked to my uneducated eye that the operations would be similar. I didn't figure that the binding slot was deeper.

As always thanks for the information and for expanding my understanding of how they're made, I truly appreciate it.
