Thanks in advance for when the album hits the shops Vince. Its been years since I saw the film on The Old Grey Whistle Test.
Pity I didnt know about the sync problem that Chris had.
I have a very good friend who happens to be a technician at Granada TV in Manchester.
Copying from NTSC to Pal and vice-versa is a daily routine for those guys and they have the machines all set for transferring news items, films and stuff like that.
Looking forward to the 6th.......

Regarding the sound quality behind the promo video (Hold Out Your Hand and You By My Side), I have been deliberating over whether to replace the original sound that obviously myself and the other musicians mimed to during the filming of these songs.

The film stock (originally 35mm) had a long journey from the original session at the LEE Soundstage in 1975 to this current re-release and has been through various transfers; from analog to digital, PAL to NTSC and back again, and one must also take into account the various effects that Dolby can have on these transfers. Taking all this into consideration, I think it has cleaned up pretty well.

I am told by the manufacturers that certain DVD players may incorporate a slight anomaly (not necessarily top or bottom of the line players) in the audio playback of the promo video producing a kind of a repeat effect in the low end. I hope this doesn’t spoil anybody’s enjoyment.

On a fashion note, I hope you all appreciate the effort I put into matching my white satin boots, pants, and kimono.

I would also like to take this opportunity to apologize to Vincent Gallo for the misspelling of his name after all his valuable help in the refurbishment of the video. I will have that fixed on further production runs. Sorry Vincent!

Thanks,

Chris Squire

Actually, it was fashion coordination involved in your video that made me decide that I needed yet a third copy of this album/CD/DVD.

Hey Chris, no problem on the misspelled name. Gallo Gallow what’s the difference. I mean, Chris, I’m godfather to your only son !! G A L L O ________ G A L L O __ no W. I’m Italian, remember. Vincent Gallo, the guy who stores your beat up car in his driveway while you’re in London. In any case I forgive you, love you and still think you’re the greatest of all time. Elys, I have an idea, how about we organize a screening of the film projected from the print. NYC or LA. Everyone invited .

How about one in North Yorkshire, England! Image.

Great idea, Vince! Image NYC would be the most centrally-located for the UK folks. But you couldn't auction Chris' car off to the highest bidder afterwards unless we had it in LA...

I am more than a bit upset at Amazon US for their lack of understanding and patience. Chris, did you know that Amazon had retaliated to delays by telling its customers that they would now not begin filling orders until October 10th 2007 for your CD+DVD in the US to US buyers? Earlier today they further changed that availability forecast to the following somewhat offensive and "less-than-polite" statement:

Availability: Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and sit in with the band whenever you can, to keep your chops up!

Elys, Don't worry, for those in the US that can't get their order filled by Amazon, just purchase it from Stone Ghost Records. We will offer signed and unsigned copies. We will also be offering Fish Out of Water t-shirts.

Again, thanks for hanging around Chris... and welcome Mr. GALLO!!! Image

(And how can such a snappily-attired gentleman with impeccable taste in basses drive a beat up car?)

I can't wait!

Thanks for the updates and background information guys.

Chris,

Just wondering, are you personalizing these autographed copies? I realize that it would probably be a HUGE undertaking, but just a thought.

This is just too cool!

I can't wait!

Oh, did I say, I can't wait already? Image

"I'm up for a NYC event"...THAT would be the ONLY thing to get me back on a jet again! If it happens, I'm in!

Great news, and thanks for keeping us up on what's going on!

Hey Chris, I'm offering here and now to give your beat up car a good going over with Scratch-X and Zymol next time you're in LA! I'll even treat THE BASS to a good cleaning/polishing for you! Just say the word.

It's not me with the beat up car - but thanks for the offer.

I am personalizing the the FOOW Bonus cd/dvd. I know it is a bit more work, but I'm really proud of this project and I think it is special to a lot of fans out there and personalizing it is the way to go.

Amazon can have their Long Distance Runaround. In a Roundabout way, things tend to work out.

Sorry, Mr Squire. Way too easy. Image
