Marc Ecko, the ball's new owner, has a
Poll as to he should do with the ball.
Choices are:
1: Give the ball as is to Cooperstown
2: Burn an asterisk into the ball and then present it to Cooperstown
3: Send the ball to outer space

#2. * won record by cheating with drugs.
#3. One of these days, right to the moon, ball!

Burn an asterisk into the moon and then present it to Barry Bonds.
A gift from a grateful America...

I voted to brand it, would be a constant reminder to the cheats out there and really PO old Steroid Boy himself.

Bonds opinion of this ball mess, which I agree with Barry...

If this moron had $750K to spend on a ball to create a media circus around himself(which is all he did) then he could have put the money to kinder uses.
I used to buy Ecko stuff..maybe I'll send that stuff to the moon, or burn it.

The article is expired but I would be PO'ed if I were him also, thought he was going to get all this glory, what's he get? Derision from the majority of the fans which he deserves IMHO. He also PO'ed because the ball is getting more attention than he is, he's a has been already, haha!

"Ecko did not directly respond to Bonds' comments Wednesday, but said in a statement he would make Bonds a custom T-shirt that says, "Marc Ecko paid $752,467 for my ball, and all I got was this 'stupid' T-shirt."
Funny!

Sounds like Ecko has a worse problem with his ego than Bonds.

You should have seen him on the Today Show. He was pretty cavalier and entertaining.

That is the full active link to Marc's post - half his link is not active.
I like Mr. Echo's sense of humor.

I thought this thread had died a peaceful death. But no!!! The Bonds-bashers are back.
I must admit, though, this latest round of social observation has convinced me. Let's all berate that cheating no-talent bum Bonds and glorify Ecko. Now here's a genuinely honest fellow. His statement on the today show was that he wanted to "democratize" the ball for America. Isn't that special. He wants to help us all. Gee I wonder if that was really his motivation. I believe him. He wanted to help us poor Americans.
Or . . . do you think that just maybe he bought about $10 to $20 million worth of the media spotlight for 752K? Me thinks Mr. Ecko is helping Mr. Ecko. Now there's the role model we all can have our children look up to.

I think good parenting would require having your children look down on both of them.
Let me see if I can 'democratize' that ball any better than Mr. Ecko did...
(Ahem...)
IT'S NOTHING BUT A G*DD*MN BASEBALL!
There, how was that? On the lighter side of sports 'memorabilia', the official motto of Las Vegas has been changed to "Nobody Leaves This #@&%$ Room!"
