I'm surprised I didn't think of that one. I'd say that's a real strong possibility Paul.

- The 4002 was a cutting edge bass that didn't sell and so was discontinued;
- The 4005 was a bass that sold in small numbers and was discontinued;
- We all (yep, me too) want to see them reissued.

There's something in that chain that doesn't make sense, but I can't put my finger on it....... :?
Excellent point, Evan. You can add the C64's to that list too.

Like South Dakota.

North Dakota would be cheaper... and closer for you!

Yeah, sure. Bismark and Laguna Beach are nearly the same. I am sure the Halls would have no problem relocating. :D

I hear Bismark is beautiful in February!

Nobody has nailed it thus far by the way.

(4006 does sound cool though... Perhaps a 381 bass?) :lol:

I am really hoping that if/when the 4004 based 5 string is again offered that it is available as a Laredo as well.

Anyway, I'd really be interested in a 4005...

A new design for a bass inspired by the 650D, with bird's eye maple, CB binding and finished trans black.

How does that sound? :?

How about: a 9 string bass made in co-operation with Stick enterprises that looks like a 4005 with a Chapman Stick neck, maple body, walnut neck, peanut-shell binding, finished with a coating of maple syrup; hardware plated with aluminium foil carefully applied by hand and a blow-torch; two active quadruple-coil horseshoe pickups (horse detached) with 16 possible configurations set by a rotary switch located on the strap button on the butt, with a passive option set by the player standing on one leg; 64-bit preamp with 20inch LCD screen and single control button using a variant of BMW i-drive to control the tone and volume with on-board wi-fi that links directly to the Ric server and orders strings from the boutique when the pre-amp detects tone degradation. The neck will be multi-adjustable by virtue of 37 truss rods made of a new tungsten-marzipan composite, with the rods accessed by removing the 24-carat gold vintage-style TRC. The package includes a silver vintage case pre-aged using a sledge-hammer and a can of violet spray-paint, plus a python strap, being a live python with schaller strap locks fitted at each end (a bag of mice will be optional).

Isn't this the bass you've really been waiting for?
