If Joey shows up, maybe he can bring "me" along...kiramdear wrote:Sorry, CJ, we'd love to have you show up.
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I cast my vote for Saturdays...

That's cool, Steve. So the 24th might be a nice stopover on your way to Sacto?
Looks like the 24th is starting to stand out as a possible likely. I wonder if Paul A is finished with summer school by then?

Re: San Francisco Bay Area Confluence ?
Saturday works better for me (dang ol' 8am Monday meetings), but I could swing Sunday if that's works better for other folks. Any weekend in July.
On the musical selections...is there a link to the SoCal setlist that was mentioned?
Things I'd be interested in hacking away at:
REM: Boxcars, Radio Free Europe, Sitting Still, Driver 8, etc.
TPATH: The Waiting, American Girl, You Don't Know How It Feels, Free Girl Now, You Wreck Me, etc.
The Who: I Can't Explain, Pinball Wizard
Smithereens: Behind the Wall of Sleep, Blood and Roses
Not so Rickenbacker, but what the heck:
Buddy Holly: Peggy Sue, Not Fade Away, etc.
Anybody know any Let's Active? Maybe we can pick one and do a tribute to Mitch!

Good stuff, Doug! Once we get the date settled we'll dive into the content discussion. We'll be sure to include all suggestions from attendees (that don't require more than four chords).
Eighties' and Nineties' music will be great!

Hey, man. Chill out. That's the little-known secret to get "the San Francisco Sound" you've heard so much about.scotty wrote: What the bleep!! that place looks like a squat!![]()

Can we do some Byrds, Beatles, Animals, Searchers, etc as well ? ( I'm really showing my age here
)
But hey, show me the chords, show me the chords and I'll play it !
San Francisco Sound ? Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane always played a 360/12

Yeah, I'm sure we'll cover the old school stuff; I don't want the younger people to feel left out, though.
Once we get past the scheduling phase, I'll be soliciting Confluence Guru Paul A for his exhaustive Socal set lists, then we'll look at everything and decide what might work. We'll try to include all suggestions from attendees, however.
So far we have five coming up from Socal, including Paul.

I know most of that list, and I have the first two "Let's Active" recordings. It would be super cool to play some Let's Active for me, because I was inspired to order my AZ blue 360 WB after seeing Let's Active, with Mitch playing his AZ blue 330, open up for Echo and the Bunnymen at the Palladium.analogpackrat wrote:Saturday works better for me (dang ol' 8am Monday meetings), but I could swing Sunday if that's works better for other folks. FYI, I'm not all that young, you guys....
I have a copy of "Surrealistic Pillow" (3/5 of a Mile in Ten Seconds"!), and we play a lot of the 60s stuff as well... however "young" the younger set might be.
