Scott, why dream? Do what I do and buy a new or used RIC that's closest to what you want and modify it or have it modified to meet your unique needs.

I would had I the tools and experience modding one like that. I have the patience, I just don't have the experience to do this.

This is why I've looked everywhere for a beater so I can feel more comfortable modding a new Rickenbacker.

So have it done. I certainly can't do everything I've had done, and it beats the heck out of dreaming. By the way, just what is it you'd like to see Rickenbacker make besides the previously mentioned 5-string?

I'm like a kid in a candy store when I think of all the features that have been on Rickenbacker basses over the years but apart from the 5er, I'd like to see them build a 6 done right... although I admit, I have more preference for an 8 or--dare to dream--a 12.

But I'm more than happy if I saw another 5er... and if it was fretless, even better.
