There's a bass like that (with an ebony fingerboard) leaning against the wall of Ben's office.

Not going to happen for several reasons, not the least of which is that this is the last of the ebony and that it turns out this is Ben's personal bass. (I didn't know this before today.)

Obviously you can't appreciate a pearlescent finish from a photograph.

Thanks for the photo. Ben's bass seems to have an interesting combination of features -- built on a C64 frame with zero fret, hi-gain neck pickup, non-horseshoe treble pickup, Schaller tuners, chrome-top knobs, among others.

Looks like a keeper to me! :)

Think I just wet my pants, a pearl white Rickenbacker 4003, now that would be something to own.

Yes, indeed! Here is another great looking white finish with ebony fingerboard bass, zero fret, too (sorry, not a Rick, but I loved the Marleaux basses I have played, just can't afford one :( ).

Its really nice to see you guys are at least playing around with white finishes again John.

Didn't I read a post a few years ago where you said that RIC wouldn't be doing white again? A bad experience maybe??

I may be mistaken. :?
