We haven't got to the 2nd CD yet, we're playing most everything from the 1st one right now and will eventually start on the 2nd. We're having a fun time playing these great tunes, they're a lot of fun. I absolutely love singing "Cheese and Onions".

;) Now that you mention it, neither of the other 2 bass-playing photos from that gig show my hands below mid-neck, though I could swear I spend 99% of the time way down in the low frets like a good little plodder! The photo guy must have only shot the bass when he heard me doing something ill-advisedly dramatic Image

if we weren't supposed to play that far up the neck then there wouldn't be frets there ...

Jeff, ya gonna get all serious on us? I thought they were there just to hold the thing together, so I can play those LOW notes!!!

Speaking of frets not being so far up there, I forget the name of the company, but there is a bass manufacturer that has their necks half fretted, half fretless. I think it is fretted all the way up to the 12th fret, and fretless from then on.

I dont know if i like the idea or not. It sounds pretty kool tho. And if you wanted you could use a octave pedal and drop it back down. Sounds kool.

Hey Carl, the tuners and the neck pickup on your 4001 look unusual for a Rick bass, or is it my eyes? I take it they are replacement parts?
