Wow, not only room in the shop but are you sure you have an adequate number of appendages to keep up? (Wait... did I really just ask that?)

I'm getting back into action after a few weeks of taking it easy, working weekends only. There are a half-dozen Rick projects coming to completion in my shop, but no finished work to show for a week or two.

I'll take some semi-finished shots tonight. A number (4 is the number, actually) of acoustics nearly ready for paint, and four mid-'60s 330s and 360s. A Tuxedo and a Blackstar bass, and final assembly of a CS for Mr. Boyer. I'm working on a 1999 resto, a Combo 1000 and a AZ 450S. Two 370/12 RMs and a couple of 320s, too.

Holy Cow! I didn't realize I had so much to do!!!

Hey Guys, this the back of the line?

Lots of you have watched the videos I've put up--they're all of Ron O' Keefe's Jumbo 700C/12 in Amber Fireglo.

Next video will be a buffing video, which I('m editing this evening) and then I'll do a last video on assembly and setup. There's so much to include that this process will have to be re-captured a couple more times to get some stuff I'd forgotten to mention on the record. It's possible, I'm certain, to automate the process of building and finishing acoustic guitars--most major players have every step of the building and finishing process, rendered to the point of being foolproof.

In the case of these acoustics, each individual build brings its own set of challenges; all are built to the same general scheme and with the same process, but every single guitar has its own quirks which must be tamed or fiddled until it's as good as it can be, as far as sound, playability, and quality of construction and finish are concerned.

This past longish weekend I was in my shops all weekend, pouring inlays, binding, sanding, buffing, and assembling several projects. I also painted two acoustics and got both into the first stages of clearcoat varnish. I haven't photographed these two yet--I'll probably get to that later this week. One is Green Burst!!! I only have one acoustic left to finish from the most recent build on bodies (your special Jumbo, Bob!), and I've already started another batch of bodies and necks to fulfill some custom orders for specific types of woods (mostly birdseye maple).

Here are some iPhone pics of a couple of projects that I'm just finishing up--a '65 360/12 that is one of three neck resets I completed as a batch, a couple of months ago. It's finally receiving its FG refinish, after having been refretted, and having had the crushed pearl inserts redone--the original inserts were very thin and getting transparent at the edges. This one belongs to Dan Saifer (Danotron) and will be at SCARF.

The second set of photos is of a Wineburst 730S/6 with shaded rosewood back and sides, just being completed this week. Of course I'll still post some better shots of these projects, both on my Photobucket site and on this Forum and others.

It's been a productive summer so far this last 4 weeks, and there's no sign of a slowdown. This year I'm taking my vacation around Christmas, when we all go to Brasil on pleasure and family business.

The Wineburst 730S is gorgeous. That is my favourite guitar color of all time, acoustic or electric. It is so dark it's practically black at the edges and sides. Yum!!

The 1965 360/12 looks great! I thought mid 60's models only had a (long pole) toaster pick up at the bridge. Pretty cool to see otherwise. :D
