Welcome, Danny. I may have had a few(?) beers today but I can spot the Rick - cool (and I'm not laughing!!).

Crikey!! Your 1000 makes me feel sub-human with my new David Eden 400..... then again, 400 watts is probably enough for your average lounge room!

Lol Nate, believe me you wouldn't want it! People spoke really highly of them on talkbass so i took a chance and bought one from ebay(after being told countless times that my rick's 'too harsh'?!?! :/ ).
Everything started off fine, apart from barely being able to play without a pickup cover (now remedied) but then the strap buttons started to become loose - and need to be tightened every day
- oh, and the D & G strings like to take little trips out from the nut. And if im not mistaken theres a rather worrying bow in the neck forming...not that i want to put you off
It was like going back to my old peavey milestone days - quite literally...on the plus side it's reminded me just how great the ric is.
Anyway ive rattled on enough, thanks again for the welcome!

Wow... I've heard highly of them also. I've also heard they were better than a Rick! Never believed that though. I want one because
1.) I'm a huge Rush fan and
2.) I've never owned a Fender.
Well I guess it'll stay that way... I'm not spending $1000 on a new Fender. I'd rather spend that on another 4001 from the bay, a 4003, or another custom bass. Rick too harsh? No way!

Fender quality control must be a touch iffy. I've got a Rick 4003 and A Geddy Lee Jazz bass and the Jazz bass has shown no problems at all over the last 3 or 4 years that I've owned it. To be honest, I'm primarily a guitar player and I use the basses to work out song ideas or for demos, so they don't get a lot of playing time, so my experience may have been affected by that. The Jazz bass is about half as good as the Rick (which is incredible) and I paid about half as much for the Jazz bass. Plus they're both "JetGlo" so there's cosmetic symetry to them, too. I'd still look at the Geddy Lee if you're interested in one, but I wouldn't pay 4003 prices for it.
The wonderful thing about Rickenbackers is that you don't have to worry about getting a good one versus a bad one. They're all good.

No, all my images it says are over the 500X500 limits or they are too "color intensive". Sorry for the 4 completely useless posts. One day I'll get this "Your Image Here" thing figured out. Until then, your patience is appreciated.
Now it's time to go to practice.

That's an easy way to get your number of posts up, Greg!
If you re-size it and save it as low quality it will get under the 36k limit. I usually go 400 x 400 just to make sure.

Search out, download and install "Irfanview", it's free, and is a great tool that will allow you to reduce the size of your pics.
