I miss the huge clubs from the 70's the 1000 seat places, used to be two I played frequently around Ma. and Conn. One was called The Cricket in Ashland Ma., had two bars and had local as well as national acts playing there, you felt like a star when you had people twenty deep crowding the stage. Another was known as The Shaboo in I think, Willimantic, Conn. Same deal, two bars, held about 1000 people, and had national and the better local acts, I opened for Wishbone Ash there once, AC/DC played there before they were well known here during the late 70's. One of Muddy Waters ex-bassplayers used my bass to jam with my band there once.

I believe on Judy in Disguise, John Fred's Playboy band was actually Fats Domino's band making some extra money as session guys, or they were freinds of J.F's. or something. He was DJ down New Orleans way or maybe not. Glad I made that clear.

You made it perfectly clear, haha! But I don't think so, I read something about that band, they actually hated that song, it was representitive of their usual R&B stuff. I saw Fats Domino twice during the early 80's, they were a great band, still had Dave bartholomew with him when I saw them. Put it in Google it'll come up, was in some bubblegum site.
