Not sure if this has been posted. For all I know I could have gotten it from this thread a while back.

These are OK. If anyone has anything better, we still have some time.
Does anybody know what the BACK looks like?

From earlier in the thread someone said "These pics I have are of the Back of his rick, can be clearly seen that the back of it is white also."
I have been searching the web and I just can't find any pics of the back of his bass when it was painted.

At my local video store, they have a VHS called Mystery Trip, which collects a bunch of silent footage from 66-67. It's quite clearly a bootleg, and one I don't read about much. It's got some footage of Paul's safari in 66, his plane trip to California in early '67 to see Jane, and behind the scenes MMT footage. I'll check it out again and see if I can see any additional shots of the bass. I think the footage may have been stolen from Paul and Mal, as Paul isn't seen much in the footage, which probably indicates that he's behind the camera.

There's a decent front/side angle of the Ric when it was painted in the book Beatles Gear on 234 in the left corner. Worth a look.

I still can't figure out why Macca would sand the Ric down AFTER it had already been professionally stripped by a luthier? Doesn't make sense. JH has said the bass was in pretty rough shape when it came back to the shop a while ago because the treble pickup magnet had lost its charge. He commented that there were visible coarse sandpaper marks in the surface.
It doesn't make sense that every time he smoked the weed, he'd run and get the sandpaper out and attack the Ric! Once with paint maybe... but that gets old fast!

I've seen that John. Thanks for the reminder. John has a pretty cool site. He is also pretty cool about suggestions. I emailed him a few times and he gave me a mention in his special thanks area.
