Patience, folks...I am waiting for a part that is the keystone to the entire assembly, and can't begin reassembly until I get it...

And I promised Melissa that I wouldn't post any color pics until it was finished and together.

Meanwhile, other projects are nearing completion; not a wasted moment!

Ha ha, Paul you know you are doing well when you post a "black & white" pic of a guitar that you've refinned and people want one in THAT color!

Uh-uh. There's plenty of stress everytime I load up the clearcoat gun. It's the last step and Murphy's (Sod's) always on the lookout for new fun...Although I've been doing this for a long time, a paint job without one surprise is virtually unheard of...

I shot eight coats of CV onto Alan Z's 4003 today and it's PERFECT. Some of the details on this bass will surprise you.

Unfortunately, I told Alan I'd keep IT a secret until IT's done, although I'll post a couple of B & W pics under his thread here, over the weekend. Nothing to give anything away, you understand...

Believe me, guys, the anticipation is killing me, too!

I'm gonna go and finish unpacking and then play my guitar(s) in front of the fireplace this evening....

I've been suffering a very painful week of guitar withdrawals.

Well folks, the Curmudge says that the key part is supposed to get to him today.... Which means we'll have to wait until after NAMM to see what he's been doing to my guitar!

I am suffering in an agony of anticipation--please bear with us a few more days! Image

Well, Melissa at least you can take comfort in knowing it is only waiting for a part to be complete so it should be back in your hands quickly after NAMM. That's pretty good news!

Paul said he should be able to get mine finished after getting back and fortunately for me it is only a fretboard refinish so my "pained wait" isn't quite as long term.....but even that is killing me. Image

Gosh, I feel soooo bad at being only one person. Never meant to cause any pain. Hopefully the joy of reunion will compensate.

A Navy Officer in one of our Air Ops meetings uttered the malaprop: "...the low man on the pyramid..."

Feeling a little like that mythic character, Paul?

I thought I sent my 4004L to Paul Wilczynski Inc. and that there would be an army of drones working on it. This new information changes things......
