Hey Jerry, just noticed on another thread in The Others that someone was looking for a 330MB. When I followed the link to check out the guitar, I found that the vendor also has a 360DG. It's not too late for ya buddy!! Northridge isn't too far from me, so if you seriously want one I could make the trek up there to check it out for you.

Lou I'm embarassed to say that I'm ampless right now. I had a huge old Ampeg tube 4x10 & a Fender Twin r/i that I had to get rid of and am now relegated to a little Marhsall SS practice amp. Actually, I think it sounds ok for what it is, but it just doesn't have any bass response. Most of the time I'm recording at home anyway and stick to a tweaked AC30 in my PodXT. It's surprisingly not terribly ****** as long as you don't use their squishy digital reverb yechh! I patch everything through my either Roland RE-501 or RE-301 anyway - totally decent, organic reverb and EXCELLENT echo. When I go to our practice place I play through a Marshall or an Orange.

Ron,

Here's a pic of the Peavey 212 Stereo Chorus Amp that I used along with my 350 on the sound bytes that I posted yesterday.

Cool clips, Brian. Thanks very much. That 350 really sings through the Peavey!! Image

Thanks Howard,

They are a great combination together.

The 350 is a perfect little guitar for playing the blues or for that matter good old rock and roll that needs a bit of edge to it.

Brian, thanks for the pic, I've done trawling through some local websites for details and availability of Peavey amps.

I've been looking around for an amp for a while now and have been caught up in the valve versus solid state debate. But if I could get the sound you recorded I would be happy to settle on that! So the search is on!

J. Oliver....you're killing me here! Oh man, they've got a 6 AND a 12. Now how do I sneak THIS one past the wife??

Here's something else that's strange...when I got my 360/12 FG in 1980, I was living in Van Nuys, and I think this might be the same store I got my first Rick from! I just remember it was in Northridge, and I had to order it and go back and get it, and I only found the store by looking in the phone book for guitar shops that stocked Rickenbacker. Hmmm, this would certainly be a strange twist of fate...

OK, I gotta go home and count my pennies. Thanks for the tip. If I get this and get divorced, do you have a spare room? (I've been thinking of going back to LA anyway...)

Good luck finding a 212 Stereo Chorus, Ron. I've been looking for over a year! Hopefully if you find one, you'll find two!! Image

LOL well, I have a couch...

Just tell your wife that your severe, acute version of GAS, known as RAS, compels you to get one (at a time). Tell her you'll do the two-step program
Two steps - one 360DG this week, one next week.
-or-
Two steps - one to spend the money, the other to cover it up.

See, now everyone's happy.

Gentlemen,

You seem to have taken a bit of a liking to my Peavey.

As I seem to do almost all the time, I tripped over that amp in a local music store. It was on consignment.

I have no idea how common they are. All I know is that when I played my Strat through it I had to have it.

I bought it straight away. It was a very lucky day in my life.

That's great Aitch,

The strategy worked. I'll get to see and play that one in September I suspect.

Thanks, Alisha and Brian.

Yes, the strategy did work well, didn't it? I suspect that you suspect right, Brian. I thank you wholeheartedly for your encouragement to go ahead with it... you're a great mate!

21 frets, toasters, trapeze tailpiece, slinky neck..... gimme, gimme, gimmee!! Image

And Monty Brown to boot! Wheeeeeeeee.....

Thanks very much, Sheena. Mutual congratulations, eh? Image

I'm very happy but sad in a way. This purchase has brought me to the realization that I'm going to have to 'thin the herd' a bit and offload a few guitars that I don't play - probably including one or two Rickenbackers.

A good friend of mine has suggested that there's little point in owning guitars if you don't play them - unless they are collectors' items and have some substantial intrinsic value. None of mine do, except my first Rick - a 330/6 FG, which has enormous value to me and I'll never part with it as long as I breathe.

It's better that the guitars that I don't play are at least played by somebody. I'm sure that I'll lose some money along the way but that's not as important as other things.

Onward, ever onward..........
