Home all safe and warm. It was somewhat "gunky" so I treated it to a Zymol rub down. It plays quite well and sounds nice......I'm looking forward to using it with my full rig at practice Thursday and a gig on Saturday. Just a little minor tweaking and it should be all set.
Since my playing style has evolved recently I find that I don't have an issue with the horseshoe getting in the way so that's a bonus. Seems like a great bass......I just hope it works out.
BTW....it was listed as an "00 but it has an '02 serial number.....isn't that a little late for a V63?

I have a '01 V63, that I thought was kind of late for the series too. I believe the C64 came out in late '02... so maybe yours is an early '02 V? Sounds right...

Nice score, Brian. Congrats and enjoy!
So wait...if your V63 is an '02, then that means there could possibly be a Burgundy V63. Hmmmmmm.

That's a beautiful bass, I wonder what hb1's would sound like on that?

HB1's would make that the perfect bass for me since I love the vintage features and the color, as well as the humbucking sound....which is why I have a MID 4004 coming.

I have my HB-1 needs covered so I'm looking for a brighter single coil tone out of this one. It should be a nice compliment to my others.
The MID looks very bright and "flakey" in the pics but in person it is much more subdued and deeper.
It was made in February.

The color looks really great in person!
Nice action, too, just needs a bit of nut filing to be perfect.

I'm glad you didn't say "nut shaving".....it brings back horrible memories of Bob's ramblings at the Dudepit.
