Since my 381s missed out on the confluence photo opp, here's a photo of the pair with my favorite AC30 as a backdrop. Sorry if there's not more detail. I must have lost some when getting file down to a size that would upload:

Why do I have two? I wanted a red one, couldn't find one, so had settled for the sunburst. A few weeks later, the red one pops up on Ebay. ARGH! I just haven't gotten around to selling the sunburst model yet.

Pretty Awesome Paul,,,,a pair of each. My favorite color is the white teardrop like Brian Jones played on Ed Sullivan.

Thanks Dale. BJ's white teardrop is super cool. I've only seen a couple of solid body white teardrops for sale, and Brian's two pickup model was even more rare-I've never seen another one of those, if another even exists.

I apparently have the double vision varieties of both R.A.S. and V.A.S.........

Thanks again Dale. You'll have to try it out the next time you're in town. The amp chassis is from a `73 AC 30 that I had rewired to 60s top boost specs, complete with tube rectifier. The original cabinet was particle board that started to go wobbly, and I was tired of doweling and bracing the thing, so I had a new Birch ply cabinet made a couple of years back by a Fullerton gentleman named Kerry Wright, who works a literal stone's throw from where the original Fender factory was located. I loved the fawn tolex look from the first time I saw one, so I had the new cabinet covered in fawn. Kerry thought of the old school single pin front corners. The speakers are silver frame bulldogs that I found in an old Thomas Vox Series 90 cabinet. I picked out the cream chicken head knobs; They were more visible on a darkened stage, and I thought they gave the amp a more vintage look.

-Did I put anyone to sleep with all of those details?

Does anyone know the model type (besides calling it a teardrop)of the Vox 12 string on the left in Paul's picture? I am familiar with the Mark XII but that was a solid body -- yes?

Sorry -- maybe this better belongs in the "other" category of postings.

I really wish I had taken the time to play a 381 at the confluence!

Next time!

Paul, I love this kind of stuff. In 1975 I did the same thing to a 1957 Fender Tweed Deluxe that had been abused..New Pine cabinet, Jensen speaker, Tweed and lacquer, what an amp, coupled with my 1962 Brown Fender Deluxe thru a spliter box and a phaser this was my dream sound. I played a 57 Strat, 53 Tele, 61 Dot Neck and my 66 330 Gibson P-90's thru this set up and loved it.

That sounds like an amazing setup Dale. You are truly a master of many talents. I didn't know you'd built cabinets as well.

Bob, the guitar is just called a "Mark XII Acoustic" so far as I know.

I was just reminiscing about our vacation to SoCal. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like it was months ago already.

As I was browsing through the dozens of photos I have, I thought I'd post these few, each of which brings a smile to my face for different reasons.
