House amps, maybe.

Look how intense the audience is in these and the Cavern picture up there...they were actually listening back then!

Yes, those are the only color pictures I've found of the Maton.

Check out this blowup of a pix I posted on the previous page. Looks like Neil, Ringo and Paul in the front, John in the back with Mal (?) at the door,

They were big on just leaving guitars on the floor, weren't they...

yea, I've noticed that. Either on the floor or leaning on an edge like the edge of the drum riser - perfectly poised to be accidentally split in half. It appears that Ringo didn't get a drum riser for this gig.
Any idea what those boxes on the floor are.... there appear to be at least two of them. Some sort of prehistoric stomp box?

brammy,

That bird's-eye view of the Beatles stage is an awesome shot! I used to have that photo on my bedroom wall when I was young
and it was probably new in the magazine. (Is that from Life?) I used to stare at that before going to sleep and when waking.

Something that just struck me was the placement of Lennon's amp - well back from Paul and George's. Perhaps they did this always
so Ringo could hear the (mainly) rhythm guitar to tell where in the song they were(?). Standing on all those cables would drive me
nuts (I need a tidy stage) but what an exciting photo. Thanks for the memories!

Also like the shot of the rooftop concert. Just six weeks ago, I was standing on Savile Row with my wife and kids, pointing up at those
three dormers.

I won't abuse it, but how do I get the image to display when I quote you? When I see other posts like this one has turned out, I give up
on trying to find the photo to which they are referring...

I love that shot from above too... great stuff. Dont know about how to post the reply with pix other than downloading it and re-uploading it, but likely someone else will tell us. Here's an interesting clip - someone was right up at the edge of the stage!
