Nice "Outtake" pic from the FRAGILE booklet. I would like to know what all is in the stack of records behind the 21 fretter, probably everything Chris was listening to at that point in time!

This has been one of the best threads that I've ever read on this forum. I've got my "BBC Crown Jewels" YES concert going on the DVR now.

It will be well photographed and featured in a Rickenbacker bass book I plan to publish next summer.

Wow, so it's a '70? NICE.
Now THAT should be a real treat for the eyeballs!
I can't even imagine how many goodies are going to be tucked away between the covers of that one!

Just curious: is it my eyes, or the treble pickup on that 21 fretter is not wired up?...
Very good eyes, Sergio. No wire from the bridge pup to the switch.
Rick 1.jpg
Looks like the Brown wire ( bridge pup) is connected direct to output.

i always had the feeling it was a '70...mine's JA-013.
that shot of him holding the '70 and wearing the turtleneck and necklace was used in an old rotosound advert.
"chris squire of "yes" ain't about to put nothin' but ROTOSOUND STRINGS on his ax, man !!!" from jan-feb 1973 guitar player page 28.

Looking that photo of the control cavity over again it looks to me like the horsey is going to the treble pot output direct to the output. That means no tone control or volume pot on it. The neck looks to be wired normally. Interesting.

When there was mention of Chris's Rick being serviced and the treble pick up was seen to be disconnected
it must have been this bass not the RM.
