When buying a Ric from MF online, you have to request the email price. In the email you can add it to your cart and check out through Paypal that way.

ah thanks I totally didn't realize that. I talked to them earlier and the fireglo is "private reserve" whatever that means and can only be ordered over the phone (no paypal) so I may be out of luck for FG

You can't mail them a check? Sounds like you're doing everything you can to make this unnecessarily difficult for yourself!

haha yeah that's just my luck (or lack thereof). I'm also a fan of JG and MF had a 15% off thing that finished yesterday and I stuck a JG 4003 in my cart and applied the coupon code to see if it would work and how much I would save. I went back today to see if the promotion really ended and it did but the JG 4003 is still in my cart and it's still giving me the coupon discount so I might still be able to save 15% if I get a JG. So I'm thinking I'll just get a JG for now and maybe get a FG some other time. Unless it takes the 15% away when I try to go through the checkout...then I'm not sure what I'll do.

Wait for another 15% sale!! They've had a number of those lately.

yeah pretty sure it's just 40$. If I can't get 15% off I might just order some parts and do some work on my 4001.

Phone them and they will give you it, when I bought my MID I told them that I had a 15% coupon a week before and that it didn't work when I pushed all the buttons, although the discount had been ended for over a week. The girl said I could use another valid 10% that was available at the time, but the 15% had now gone. I thought at least I could get that, but, I waited and phoned again, spoke to someone else and they said let me check with my super, they came back and said ok, bang 15%.
Alternatively try Music123, they share the same stock, prices may vary and discounts too.

+1. I called MF a bunch of times with my little MID problems, and I have to say most of the employees were very helpful! I also recommend phoning them.

On a related note, this past weekend a certain brand new 4003 JG lost its stage virginity!

My bigger surprise, beyond the poor quality control at RIC, is that RIC BASSES were DISCOUNTED at Musicians Friend? I thought RIC's were always
exempt from the "deals" at Musicians Friend? Even more-- I MISSED IT?

Could have been worse... You might have opened up the box to find this!!
