With single coils, make it an 8 string. With the existing pickups, make it a 5'er.

I was thinking maybe the opposite ... either way I am undecided ... right now it is strung BEAD ...

To each his own. Whatever way you go, you could probably leave the existing humbuckers in there and tap them.

it is now a 5 string bass ... the BEAD thing was weird and the EADG tuning was missing the low B ...

Wow! That was fast. How long did the operation take? Those A D & G tuners look awfully close. Are you sure they all clear each other?! (I know you're a trained professional and all!)

That bass came out pretty cool Jeff !!
What is the distance from the tops of the pickups to the bottoms of the strings on that bass?
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

close enough to growl and far enough so the strings don't hit ... I'll measure later ...
