John's right. I spent hours cutting & pasting pics from all over the place. The woodshop pics are from my 10th grade woodworking class.

You're lucky Eric. We had to build Fender prototypes in my 10th grade woodworking class.

When can we tell them about McGuinn and Petty showing up and raffling off the Dumpster bass?

I always wondered where Fenders came from . . .

mmmmmmm......and they've maintained that high standard ever since. Don't get me started on Fenders. I still have nightmares from when I did a factory visit. One guy who tested the guitars before shipping said to his supervisor "Hey the neck's a little loose"........."Don't worry ...it'll be OK when you bring the strings up to tension" was the reply.........no word of a lie. Now you can't buy that level of commitment, can you?

Looks like I missed a good time! I flew into San Diego Saturday night, but got stuck taking my kids to Legoland all day Sunday. I'm bummed!

Actually, I have seven fingers on my left hand and the camera was out of focus.

It's great to be back & read these posts! Within 24 hrs. after leaving the confluence - I was lying flat on my back in a hospital bed with a broken knee-cap - recovery / physical therapy are coming along fine.

I hope these confluences become a tradition - a great chance to appreciate a variety of these incredible instruments with people that share a common interest.

Thanks to Dr.who for organizing the event - Gary has 'em all & I even got a chance to play his 730L acoustic - hopefully, he'll add me to his list if he ever decides to sell.
John brought a van load of his amazing collection all the way from Az.
These photos have been fun to relive.

I don't often get a chance to play with others on a regular basis, so it was a highlight to play with Jerry Juden on a few Beatle tunes using his beautiful 660. I also got to play some tunes along with Paul Boyer on bass - all those rolling bass notes on 'Something' were pouring out of his fingers. I'd like to have played that one a few more times!

Kevin & Kenny have so much tone stored in their fingers, they could make an Esteban sing!
I recall one time when a few people were playing along with A Hard Day's Night - the lead part came around and from across the room, Kenny hammers the solo on the bass...I thought the spaceship from 'Close Encounters' was gonna land any second.

Quite an honor to meet John Hall and his wife - the keepers of the flame!

I'll go thru my pics and add anything new.
Thanks again,
Tom

Tom, sorry 'bout your knee, hope you're doing fine. It was great to play those tunes with you, I learned I had most of them wrong! And your C63 & CW were awesome. Probably the only chance I'll ever have to try those models. Thanks for letting me at 'em!

How did you break your knee cap, Tom?
I hope it mends quickly.
