does anyone know when white was introduced as a finish?

According to Mike Parks' finish timeline (http://the-music-connection.com/ricinfo.htm#fin),
white was available in 1957 and 1969 - 1999

Glad you like the white/BT Jerry, it was a beautiful bass. Unfortunately I sold it last year to help finance my 4004 obsession and will be having one of those refinned to bright white as a replacement. Here's some more pics from the auction....

I think the earliest White i've seen is '73 or so. Anybody seen an earlier one?

Thanks for the other views, Mark. I'm really more guitar guy than bass player, but if I'd seen that one for sale, I think I would have gone for it. (Of course, with approval from "Sr. management")

That white/black trim 4003 is clean. Very nice.

I've seen a picture of a '71 and possibly a '70..

That "whiter than white" needs white knobs!

Nice sound, but well worn frets (only another max. 5 years life), then a refret would have the chance of a change to black neck binding.
