I'm still having trouble believing the OJ verdict!

Looks like the Juice has another trial coming up, only this time it's just armed robbery.

trouble? Why the trouble? The jury was wrong and they let a murderer go free. In the words of one of the jurors in the subsequent civil trial where OJ was held "liable" for the deaths.... "It was the easiest decision I ever had to make".

When you combine an incompetent prosecution, a cunning and utter unscrupulous defense, a weak judge who was not in control of the trial or the courtroom, and a jury who was more intent of "sending a message" than doing their sworn duty, then you get the OJ trial.

The one thing OJ and Phil had in common is there was an awful lot of evidence to indicate their guilt, pehaps roughly the same, only in Phil's case a witness heard not only the killing, but the confession to it, and the weapon in his hand moments after the shot (though a witness in the OJ case did see him return home after the deeds.)

Phil's trail went almost half a year. He received a hung jury. OJ's went twice as long, and he walked. In OJ's trial the judge was the biggest problem. Neither trial should have gone more than six weeks. It's hard to compare the criminal trial to the civil suit, even if the evidence/case is the same. The standards which the jury must consider are quite different.

So..if Phil gets off will he also try to find "the real killer?"

There's the killer!

This is obvious news by now. Only question is how long it will be put off from now:

PHIL SPECTOR is unlikely to face a jury again for the alleged murder of actress LANA CLARKSON until spring 2008, according to the music producer's legal team. Judge Larry Paul Fidler declared a mistrial on Wednesday (26Sep07) after hearing the jury was split ten to two after 12 days of deliberation and six ballots - and unable to break their deadlock. Spector was accused of murdering Clarkson in his Alhambra, California mansion in 2003. The trial began in April (07) and featured 77 witnesses. After the mistrial was declared, officials at the Los Angeles District Attorney's office immediately stated they will retry the 67-year-old. And despite Fidler's insistence for a prompt hearing to swiftly schedule a retrial, Spector's lead attorney Roger J. Rosen announced on Thursday (27Sep07) that he will not represent his client for a second trial. He said, "I signed up for one tour of duty, not two." If Spector hires a new team of attorneys, it's likely they will be given several months of prepare their case. Spector lawyer Christopher J. Plourd, who has yet to decide if he will continue to work for the producer, says, "It would take at least six months for any lawyer to get ready. This is a very complicated, serious homicide case."
