I would think one of those brands would have to be Selmer, Brian. I'm told that The Beatles used them before Vox came along and threw masses of gear at them.

Yes that's one down.

Selmer was a very popular high end amplifier used by most beat and R&B groups that could afford them. The Animals used them before they switched to Vox for example. Adam Faith and The Roulettes used them as well just to give you an idea of how widely they were used.

Marshall became really popular just a little bit later than the period that I am looking at. I am looking for British made amplifiers that early rock and roll bands, beat groups and R&B groups were using.
