I'll finish the fingerboard today and hopefully start putting it all back together tonight.

I had to make a few touch ups to the fingerboard today, so while that was drying, I assembled the rest of the bass. I'm very happy with the way it's turned out and looking forward to playing and hearing it
I'll take some better pics outside tomorrow...

Wayne, you have something you can be very proud of ! !
And
Gibsondependable's death-sentence over another Rickenbacker carcass has been thwarted, with the excellent craftsmanship and patience of another RRF member.
You should post the "Before" and "After" pics side by side !

That sure looks a heck of a lot better than when you got it! Kudos. Let us know how it plays and sounds.

Not quite finished. I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the fretboard right. I'm about to sit down in front of a few episodes of Breaking Bad and finish the fretboard.
Pics soon...

I know exactly what you mean. Don’t know how many times a re-sprayed the fret board, also re-fretted a couple of times to start completely fresh, before I got the hang on it. Important to spray back and forth across the board, not down the board. Also, better to adjust the paint flow on the gun to a minimum and move the gun slowly to get better control.
Ah, found my previous post

I got the fretboard covered ok, it's just been a huge pain in the ***** rubbing it back and polishing it. I am my own worst enemy though as I'm somewhat of a door knob polisher (perfectionist) lol, and won't be satisfied until it's spot on.
I originally painted the colour on the neck up to the binding edge. ken_j was kind enough to point out what I had done and I was going to leave it but I couldn't help myself and stripped the colour off back down to the fingerboard edge and re-shot the clear. Looks good now except for a few troublesome little marks on the fretboard that I'll probably polish out tonight.

I know colours will vary from monitor to monitor but can I realistically call this bass Azureglo in colour? I've tried comparing it to pictures I've found on the net and it's the same as some but different from others...

Well, I've only ever seen one in person, this is what my '76 looks like, just took this a few minutes ago. The picture, on my monitor, is pretty close to what the actual thing looks like.
Of course, it has 37 years of age on it...
