KJ: I have no idea whether he finds the project to be feasible or not, give current market conditions. I just didn't see a thumbs down based on Mr. Hall's responses so far.

Peter, I guess time will tell, but the anniversary could be an interesting tie-in, a 75th Ann model is a cool idea.

I just still think it is very cool that we have something like this that lets us dream and wish and express what we think we might want, and that the head of RIC reads and posts here. I, for one, really appreciate that in this era of market research and corporations not caring about their consumers. And if there is such a bass that comes out of this discussion (and I hope there is...) then it will partially be because of this discussion forum and the expression of the customers who want these things, and the ones who want to see new ideas. Great for all!

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to make a small special run like this in the foreseeable future.

That's what dream on meant.

I went back and looked over all of these posts and have come to this conclusion:

1. I misread JH's "dream on" statement
He did NOT say the instrument itself
wasn't do-able, just the $$$$.
2. There seems to be GREAT enthusiasm for
a project like this and RIC could
possibly tie this in to the 75th ann.
3. I shoot my mouth off too much sometimes...

4. I'm sure there are MANY things that John
would like to tell us here on the forum
but can't , for whatever reasons...
Hopefully we will be on the "cutting edge"
of any RIC special editions...ahem...forum
editions... ;)

Maybe if Rickenbacker does make some kind of special run in the future, wheather it be a 200 size edition or a 1000 size, we can get first dibs or something.

How many forums are there where the owner of the company that's discussed posts and also respects what we talk about? At least we know our voice gets heard.

With that said, a "dream on" comment could stem from Mr. Hall's own frustrations of how he would like to actually just please us with a special edition but, it's just easier said than done.

Well, John, one way to solve the problem is make junky, ugly instruments in Mexico and Korea, drive the demand for the product down, then make a "comeback edition" just for us.Yes, the most stylish four string ever, that comes with an optional five string conversion kit just for Jeff.

"... most stylish four string ever, that comes with an optional five string conversion kit"

That's not a bad idea at all!
