No knobs at all? How then to control the PUs? Not? Or did you come up with some solution?

I'm thinking that it has Paul's new 'lobotoknob' feature. Of course you have to have brain surgery to insert the sensors but once you get over that it works quite well. :?

Shouldn't that be Lobot-O-Knob?

I generally leave all of them them all the way up anyway; all one really needs is the switch. . .
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

That looks so great! What's the story behind it?

A few years ago, I had imagined a 381 with a different finish than Rickenbacker offered. I wanted one with the "flip-flop" or chroma flair finish. The kind that changes
according to the angle it is viewed. I asked Paul if he could do this and he said "sure". Once the guitar arrived ( many thanks, JH!), I decided that two sound holes would be cool. I left the color up to Paul, trusting his judgement. He would have to figure the controls out, lol. There seem to be many colors in this finish and I haven't had it bright light/sunlight yet. Better pics to come. As far as the controls.....it seems to be two volume/two tone and the three way switch. I haven't tried Ric-o-Sound yet. It plays very well. I like the tortoise TRC and back plate. Gonna have fun with this one. Hopefully, Paul will chime in and explain this guitar better.

Awesome, I guess I was right about the side knobs.
Paul, are you now allowed to make custom TRC's for your new refin jobs?
I've noticed you've had a couple fancy TRC's going on on non-acoustics. I like it alot!
Maybe these will be released at NAMM???!!??

Ivan, it wasn't technically a refin. It never had been finished by the factory. You could almost label it a test guitar. I can say no more, lol.
