John at Disneyland
Apparently John came here with Julian, his girlfriend at the time May Pang and his ex-wife cynthia. Hmm.

May Pang wrote about this trip in both of her books. Here is what she had to say about in one of my all time favorite books about John Lennon, Loving John (published 1983)

The following day, during which we planned to take Julian to Disneyland, would be the real test. John wanted to leave Cynthia behind. Julian, however, hid behind the couch and would not go unless his mother could go along, and John finally relented.
Before we got to Disneyland, John said firmly, "We have to watch out for photographers. I don't believe in having a kid's picture taken just because he has a famous dad. I hate all those stars using their families to get free publicity by having themselves photographed with their children. If I see a photographer, I'll break his f---in' camera."
Once we got inside, Julian became very excited. He dashed form attraction to attraction, urging John to keep after him. John trotted after his son, and they both appeared to be having a merry time.

interesting....

John Lennon went to Disneyland sometime in late 1973 with his son, Julian, girl friend, May, ex-wife Cynthia, and friends Mal Evans and Jesse Ed Davis. John may have taken other trips to Disneyland, but this one is the one that is well known. John had not seen his son, Julian for 4 years and since he didn't really know him, thought that Disneyland would be a good place to take the 9 year old. May Pang wrote about this trip in both of her books.

That 3rd Pic from the top brammy of john standing with kids sitting on the floor, could that be a sort of school visit?

"This is a poster of John Lennon standing alone on stage during a Beatles performance. He was on stage performing a song solo while the rest of The Beatles took a break. This is a rare John Lennon picture from early in 1964."

"song solo while the rest of The Beatles took a break"???? .... (Paul singing 'Yesterday' aside) I've NEVER heard of them doing that especially at the point where they were in their suits and the act was fairly polished with a strict set list... and no encores. The closest to anything of the sort was forcing Pete Best to do extended drum solos in Hamburg while the other 4 "took a break". Has anyone heard of John doing solo stuff like that during this period?

Yea, certainly looks like it could be from a school.... or possibly more likely that it was a town hall of some sort ... circa 1963, not '64.

Re: the second Disneyland posting - maybe I'm stating the obvious, but those 2 photos are Mal, not John... aren't they? (or am I getting senile?!)
