Richard: Nice toasters and I love the look of the f-hole in your mapleglo 1997. What year was it made?

I thought the crumbs around the edge and at the bottom gave it that nice 'used but not abused' look!!

Too early for a 'beeyah', Paul. It's 10.30am Sunday over here - I do draw the line somewhere, you know (c'mon 11am!!). I'm goal umpiring a footy practice match at 1pm so I'll be in desperate need of one (one??) by about 4!!

That is waaaaaay cool, RCB!!

Is this a good thread to confess!!!!

I have condemned toasters since my brush with a 24 fret toaster equipped 360. Dreadfull, no bass response, thin....horrible. I was an outspoken hi-gain fan.

However, I have since been using 21 fret guitars with toasters & the effect has been akin to a religous experience. Truly stunning, beautiful sounds, with a warm bottom end & plenty of 'class'. I am truly converted & all the more unlikely when you consider that I play rock.
I am convinced that the difference is in the pick up spacing. 24 fret = hi-gains, the p/ups are just too close together to get the warmth that toasters need. 21 fret = toasters, hi-gains are too 'soft' with this spacing (I know, I converted a 1997 to hi-gains).

There....I've confessed & I feel better for it. Can you toasties forgive me?

Here's still another pair of left-handed toasters.

Peter, the 1997 is a 1996.

Tony, you're forgiven!

Peter, I should clarify my earlier statement. The 1997 was made in 1996.

Tony: Nice to see the 1997 in action. There is something about the British flag and a fireglo 1997 that just seems right.
