It's not my first Ric since I had a 360, a 330 and now am playing on a 650 excalibur. But believe me, I have never been so excited... I'm just like a teenager for crying out loud!!!
Thanks guys for the support, I love this forum!!

Dan: Yes, congratulations.
Having been a guitarist this past while, does this mean you will be getting a new bass amplifier as well? That will save me putting one on the roof rack when I visit.
BTW, what is the closest airport to Pick of the Ricks?

It finally came in last Friday... And what a beautiful instrument it is!
The funny thing about it is that the first question my wife asked me is if I was to give her a name!!? I never did with my other guitars but the first thing that came to my mind when I opened the case and saw it was that it looked like a black nun!!!! You know...the kind that asks for respect and you wouldn't treat otherwise!
And the sound of it,mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Useless to say that I spend the weekend playing with it!

Dan: With the understanding that there will be future Rickenbackers in your future, the name of this bass, as it is a vision of beauty and soothes your soul is ......
a) The flying nun
b) Mother Theresa
c) Mother Superior
d) The name of your wife.

Peter,
We should let you name our basses. When we get a new one, submit a photo and the story of how it came to you, and Peter will bestow a name upon it. I like that!!
"Henceforth, this bass shall be known as...Flounder!"

For sure it won't be "D", Peter! She's everything but a nun!!!! And just because of your good sense of humour, she's been christened "the Black Nun"! To think that I was using the comparison as a figure of speech...And now I just realise what I had writen!!! Yeah! "the Black Nun" it will be! LOL
