Hmmm... I see. No Rick identification on the item itself but 'Rickenbacker' does appear at the top of the ad and in the text. Unmistakable Rick shape (including headstock), however!

Where's the 'Translate button when you need it?

... in order to avoid further copyright issues I suggest somebody gets it and asks John to complete it as custom made in the Rick manufacture...

...afterwards relisted in eBay it might top the last 13.000$ deal of the '57 4001...???

...next year it could be introduced as the 4006 model...!!!

I copied and pasted the text into Babel fish....you can get the gist of what the seller is saying:

"As was already prognosticated me, the eBay police slammed shut. I continue completely simply here, the time to some extent fit. Sell from lack of time my self building project 4saiter bass "R? C k e n b @ C k e r"-Style in individual parts. I do not have this project already so bought up in hope to be able to advance it further it would be my first self building project. Unfortunately however the time is missing to me. In this auction I offer the bass blank. Korpus and neck originate from the 80'ern from a German part supplier, both are glued mitttlerweile. The neck requires still some fine work. The head end plate is brought in form, on which front furniert, the back requires still some grinding work. The griffbrett was up-glued separately and must become at the lower part of the neck still to the neck outline "angeshaped" (it projects there still somewhat). The Korpusdecke is likewise furniert (vogelaugenahorn). This has however a few tears (one can lock with abrasive dust and wood reason) and in the boundary region with wood putty was repaired. Close one of the neck beginning must have probably been brought in already times a milling locked and locked again, at least the veneer somewhat broke in there. I wanted the Halspickup here set. Otherwise the Kopus has still no drillings or milled slots, one can to its fantasy thus still free run leave... Looks at you simply the photos. In other current auctions I offer all other new parts (original 80'er years) on, in order to bring this project to the end, when would be there: * Bass-Steg, gold * Schaller tuner, gold * 2 j-bass Schaller Pickups, (individual auctions) * 2 Pickuprahmen, metal hot, gold (individual auctions) * 1 Mm Pickup of Harry Haeussel (NEW 10/2004) * Trem groove or alternatively (AGAIN 11/2004) * Webster saddle (NEW 11/2004) Potentiometers and potentiometer buttons as well as output socket are only missing, since is too individual. Looks at you also my other auctions. I do not sell here a tinkering project, which demands some nevertheless at fate relating to crafts, that am 5-Minuten-Selbstbausatz ala to Rockinger. NO cancelling, a warranty I does not sell a private tinkering object as a privatmann. The dearest would be me the self-service, otherwise 12, EURO forwarding expenses (under reservation, because of excess length??) Please absolutely consider the referring to my eBay homepage! If someone liked to make a respectable offer for the complete package AT THE BEGINNING of these auctions, he may send gladly email to me. A sales of the complete package I reserve myself the FIRST TWO DAYS."

Wow! People just don't understand "copyright infringement", do they?
Maybe it's because others have been so lax with their protection of these copyrights, that they think everyone is?

You wouldn't believe the latest e-mail the German seller sent- it's a classic and I probably should post it somewhere. By his theory, I'm responsible for 9-11 and the bankers that foreclosed on his house.

So he didn't blame you for the current price of crude oil or the deadly viral outbreak in Angola? Give him time....

Oh he's just sore because Lance Armstrong plans to humiliate his hero, Jan Ulrich for yet another year.
