I personally think my 660/12 sounds as good with OD as it does clean.

Go for the six.... (then a twelve, followed by another six and perhaps a four for a bit of variety)!!!

The bad thing about the Ric search is they are scarce, so it is not easy to try before you buy. However, for the same reason, they hold their value, you can sell it if it doesn't work out for you. I'm one of the unfortunate ones who has NEVER come across a 600-style body. For that reason alone, I chose the 360-12 over the 660-12, and I don't regret the decision. I imagine the 660-12 would have quite a different feel and sound, would have liked to have made a more informed decision, but I was unsure about the smaller size with the pointy things. If you play mostly standing up, I would think a 600-series purchase would be less risky. I would go for a 12 string next, though, with toasters. That was my next purchase after my 330. You can get the 660-12, and take off six strings, turns into a 660/6, doesn't it ???

Geoff, I think that Paul & Steve are right about the 12 string. A Ric 12 is one of lifes real glories. I have five 6 strings, a bass & one 12 string, but if I could only have two gtrs, I would have a 6 & a 12.

Better still, why don't you buy a spare 6 string AND a 12!

Anthony: an excercise in torture for you - if you WERE allowed to keep only one of the 6-strings, which one would it be ? Mine would be the Ric 330.

No contest....I love them all, but it would be my '92 1997.

Although the twins would be difficult to leave behind!
My 1980 330-6 & my 1988 330-12....
