I'd be satisfied to see a return of Autumnglo. And if there was ever a way to stop the lacquer from aging to that annoying yellow, an Azureburst would be great.

Not to mention an all-white finish with white pickguards/trim.

My Rick 4005 project went dormant over the winter, partly due to me being pathetically weak and worthless and sickly (flu/strep/bronchitis serial sickness). I am getting up the courage to reassemble the body, inspired by Mark's project, but I had a question for Mark .. where did you get the checkerboard binding !!?? .. did you save it from the body ? I still have mine.. but would be nice to have some new stuff in case I screw it up.
Thanks !

Mine was sent to me years ago by Brian Carman when he was the plant manager .
He and I were leadmen at the Kilson drive plant.

I have a limited amount of it and use it for my own projects ...sorry , but I am not 'selling' any of it.

Try customer service at Rick and see what they can do for you .

Ask Tommy , he is THE man there. Tell him I sent you.
So you too want yours "ALAPWOB"?!?!

Thanks Mark, I'll give that a try. I'm hoping I can manage with the old stuff I still have, but a Plan B is always good to have.

If you measure the old stuff (how ?) use a piece of string , and pull the string along the binding .You will find the binding is now shorter that is was !
