Ok I'm going to post my ones again because I've thought of more and they've been scattered. I'm posting the reasons too.

Rush - Prime Mover. I love the sound of that Wal. Beautiful lyrics too. Really makes you think. The live one on the "A Show Of Hands" video is good.

Rush - La Villa Strangiato. One word: sick. Ok more than one word needed. Great guitar, amazing drums, and talk about a fast, and short, bass solo! Gotta love that Rick. And the fact it was recorded in one take? Wow. I like the ESL version the most.

Rush - The Pass. Great song. And a Rush song I can sing in my normal (not falsetto) range to boot! Well... just about anything '82+ I can sing in my normal range.

Rush - Between The Wheels. Great song. Geddy's singing gives me goosbumps, hehe. The last verse: "We can go from boom to bust....", when he goes up higher (not as high as usual, but that was the album when he started singing lower) just gets to me. But there's not very much bass to it. I need a keyboard!

Ashlee Simpson (ducks)- Endless Summer. I love that song. That song just got to me.

Pink Floyd - Time. Good song. I like it post Waters with Guy Pratt's overplaying, although with Waters it is just as good. Now, Roger playing it solo... lets just say that's why he didn't sing lead on it in the first place. Great guitar solo too.

Paul McCartney - Figure of Eight. First time I heard it I loved it. Best version on "Tripping The Live Fantastic".

Kiss - I Still Love You. Best when heard live. Unplugged version is awesome!

The Beatles - You Can't Do That. One song that has been on the list for a couple years now. I love to sing that song. Great Ric sound in it too.

Nate, don't feel too bad about having Ashlee Simpson on your list, how about all that Rush? now that I would question.

What's wrong with Rush? I've listened to nothing but Rush for a little over a year now. I have a bunch of songs that I like by them but those are on top.

Now with Ashlee... let's just say it took me 6 months to even buy her CD, but I love every song. She's not that good of a singer but there are worse.

Nate it was just a joke, they seem to be almost the most popular band here next to The Beatles And Yes.

Taking a slightly different tack, I like the following songs that have been done by multiple people/bands.

Where Have You Been All My Life - sounds great by The Beatles at The Star Club, Gene Vincent and Arthur Alexander

Tumblin' Dice - Sounds great by The Stones and fair to middlin' by Linda Ronstadt

Got To Get You In To My Life - The Beatles and Earth Wind and Fire

Here Comes The Sun - Sounds very good but very different by Richie Havens and by The Beatles

and my recent favorite I Want To Hold Your Hand which has always sounded great by The Beatles and I've recently heard a version by Al Green that is incredibly different but extremely good.

Great songs all, as are most of the ones I've seen listed in this thread.

I'd give honorable mention as well to Soldier Of Love. Great versions by Arthur Alexander, The Beatles and, more recently, Marshall Crenshaw.

BTW - If someone out there knows how to play "Where Have You Been All My Life", I'd appreciate some help. Playing by ear is something I'm only beginning to pick up.
