And Rickenbacker basses are only for trebley progressive rock.
02 cents - I'm happy with that!

Welcome back, Mark. I think the last time you posted was when that fake eBay ad appeared.
I agree with the $2000+ evaluation, owing to its rarity. I might be interested in it if/when you sell it.

Rickenbackers can be pretty much what you want them to be, which is one of the main reasons I play them besides the fact that they are pretty and very well made.

I'm sure many of us have pulled out a Rickenbacker bass in new musical situations only to have the singer or guitar players roll their eyes. So many folks out there have this preconceived idea that a Rick is going to have a distorted trebley over the top tone. While it can, it also has a total tonal pallette that fits in any musical situation.

"a distorted trebley over the top tone"
I have felt that way sometimes when a singer approaches a microphone!

Egads Gary, you have a great memory! That had to be almost two years ago....
I really don't know how to price this bass. It's tough to put a value on things when there aren't many around. Will just have to let the market set the price. What I'll probably do is put it on eBay soon, start it at a high price and see what happens. Now that eBay allows buyers to make offers that should give a pretty good indication of what a fair price would be.
And Peter, thanks for your comment about my site! It's been really time consuming and a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Met some great people and made some good connections. And it's amazing how much you can still learn after you think you already have a good handle on things.

I owned a Dean 5 string. Good bass. It was my second bass but hey. It was still a good bass. Get the 10 string. Do they make those neck through body, Rath?

My Edge was a bolt on. Still was a good bass. It was purple though... I didn't quite like that.
