If anybody wants replacement saddles for a 4003s5 I had some made ... they are stainless steel and fit your existing bridge ... and I have some allen head screws that fit them ... I find 2 1/4" is more comfortable than 2 1/16" for 5 strings ... If you get Sergio to make you a custom pickup then you can get to 2 3/8" but that is pushing it ... and if you don't like the replacement saddles the mod is 100% reversable ... just e-mail me ... and if I don't respond e-mail me again ... I won't miss it twice ...

I just checked the new saddles ... they are made to take 3mm metric screws and not the 18-8 4-40 ... I will have to analyze these to see if they work ...

yep ... I talked with my machinist friend ... I will get them re-tapped and they will be ready in a week or 2 or 3 ...

Regarding the original inquiry to 4003s5 prices, I found one at Elderly Instruments last March for $1050. It sometimes pays to be in the right place at the right time.

You can tell the 80s basses by the thicker horns.
