Here is a picture of the pad on the bottom of a high gain pickup (adhesive side toward the pickup, plain side toward the guitar):



And I won't make a comment on a likely source of the methane alluded to above ...

Thanks Gary. I'm happy to say the pad replacement went okay. The string replacement went okay too. Should be easier next time. My Fender amp ******* out while I was strumming.
