I've owned a 1994 red/black 4003 (stolen) and a 1981 clear red/white 4003 (traded), neither were an "s"... now I wish I could find an S since I've grown to love the clean, unbound look. Hence why I'm looking for a project Ric... I'm looking to do some body mods.

Congratulations Bob, a great bass at a great price. Nice to see a forum member have some success. Have you managed to explain it away to your other half yet? I'm sure if you point out that it has a toaster pickup in the neck position, checkered binding, full width neck inlays and original Grover tuners, she'll understand completely!

Thanks guys, better one of us than the Emperor.
Actually the wife took the news rather well. After seeing the 4002, I think she's developing an appeciation for fine Ric basses.
The only thing she said was "you better sell the Ampeg B15".
Hmmm.

Bob,
If you are selling the B-15, I need a nice low power portable rig, so keep me in mind !!!!

Jim,
I don't know how portable it is, but I'll keep you in mind. You and my wife must be conspiring against me.
