Yeah me too, I was just surprised that the Sunn made my bass at the time sound so much like Squire especially a P bass at that. I had been using Rots for a long time at that time so it wasn't only the strings although they definitely had something to do with his sound also, besides the Rics and Sunn amps he used to use.

Well gentelmen it would seem that we are no closer to finding an answer to the question ampeg or ashdown.But at least we all agree on the make of bass we choose RICKENBACKER.
