It IS the same as the 360 body style...I used to own one. And, you're correcto-mondo, Mark...the neck was TOTALLY different...I even tried to play it as a guitar(tuned) but bar chords were a total TRIP!!!! AL A.

Here is what I'd like to see:
Discontinue all 24 fret necks. Only build 21 fret necks.
Substitute the "all the way across" Deluxe inlays for the shorter style.
That is all. For the moment.

Yep!!! 325v59 with crushed pearl triangle inlays, checkered binding on the body, neck AND headstock, stereo, and also have the 381 German curve...cut only a 1/2 inch curve, like on the Hawaiian's guitar...not the 1"... and then we'll TALK!!!! AL A.

I hear ya on the 24 fret necks I love them! Also I would absolutely DROOL over a new 360WB or (even better in my case) a 370WB with CHECKED binding.
I also have been trying to figure out how to build a guitar with a 325-350 shaped body but with a thru neck and features of the 650 series, even down to the radius on the outside and finish. With a 3 pickup combination and the combi vibrato this would give Rickenbacker a guitar that would be amazing for leads and dig right into the strat market. It would also make Ricks more appealling to a wider variety of guitarists. If I get some extra cash I'm going to build one. Somebody give me some extra cash! Oh and don't sue!

Dominic:
Sounds like you wanna make something like a Combo 850; they weren't neck-thru but were solid body and had the 325 body shape, save for the carved top....Great idea!!!

It would be fairly easy for Rickenbacker to make even. The thru neck is already in production all you need is differently shaped body wings and another pickup. Just like that you have a completely new and competitive lineup!
If I could find a real combo 850 like in turquoise with the gold guard...man how wonderful that would be.
