Thanks for the additional string suggestions, Jim. Sorry for the delay in getting back (hey, what can I say...it's a holiday weekend!...food, beer, fireworks, more food & beer...). I'll try them l out.

DR's and D'addarios ... both are first rate ...
my personal favorite is Copley nickel round wounds ...

Thanks, Jeff. I've been a long-time D'Addario user for bass and guiar. I've never tried Copley...not sure if the local stores carry them, but I'll be looking.
